About the Opportunity
We are looking for a Flood Risk Consultant with experience of delivery of appraisals for structural and non-structural solutions for flood risk management schemes to join our engaging multidisciplinary team in central Birmingham.
You will be an essential member of our team delivering a range of projects to our clients including Environmental Statements, Flood Risk Assessments on large scale infrastructure projects and business cases for Lead Local Flood Authorities and the Environment Agency. Your role will involve coordination of inputs from across our technical delivery teams including hydrologists, hydraulic modellers, stakeholder engagement specialists, civil and geotechnical engineers, ecologists and landscape architects. This varied role will provide you with a wide range of opportunities to develop your experience and advance your career.
As part of our supportive team you will have the opportunity to become involved in maintaining and developing strong ongoing client relationships, mentoring more junior colleagues, helping us win new work, supporting project and team management and contributing your own innovative ideas to help us find affordable, sustainable and low carbon solutions for our clients.
Here’s What You’ll Need:
Undergraduate degree (2:1 or above) in Engineering, Environmental Science, Geography or a related discipline
Awareness of relevant legislation, planning policy, guides and design standards relating to flood risk management and drainage strategies
Experience of delivering Flood Risk Assessments and business cases for flood risk management schemes for the Environment Agency and/or LLFAs, and the partnership funding process
Excellent literacy, communication, analytical and numeracy skills
