About the Opportunity

Jacobs Pavement Engineering function has an excellent opportunity for a Pavement Engineer to provide professional services to our clients including pavement design, construction and asset management. You will impart knowledge to ongoing projects and support the production of bids. You will also assist in technical elements of pavement design, assessment, inspection and surveying including data assessment and analysis. In this role you’ll have opportunities to support highway and port pavement designs and maintenance schemes in the UK and around the world.

Your base location will be Birmingham Jacobs UK offices, but we also operate a hybrid working model. Work life balance is a key area of focus for Jacobs and we are happy to discuss flexible working arrangements, including part time and flexible working patterns. There will be a requirement to travel to our clients from time to time.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

  • BEng Civil Engineering (or equivalent qualification)

  • Demonstrable experience in pavement engineering with knowledge of current and emerging pavement technology

  • Understanding of pavement deterioration processes and mitigation measures

  • Experience in planning and implementation of condition surveys and structural assessments

  • Experience in design, specification, supervision of repair and upgrading of pavements

  • Experience with pavement assessment software (examples – ELMOD, BISAR, AASHTO ME)
