About the Opportunity
We are looking for a Senior Civil Engineer with experience of design in the fields of flood risk management and river engineering to join our engaging multidisciplinary team in central Birmingham.
As a Senior Civil Engineer with our Water Catchment Management team you will be involved in the design of projects for the Environment Agency (both regionally and nationally), Lead Local Flood Authorities and other public and private clients including water companies, Network Rail, and major airports. You will be involved in the design of earthwork embankments, conveyance channels, reinforced concrete structures, steelwork structures, flow control structures, flood gates, demountable defences as well as natural flood management solutions.
As part of our supportive team you will have a role in maintaining and developing strong ongoing client relationships, mentoring more junior colleagues, helping us win new work, supporting project and team management and contributing your own innovative ideas to help us find affordable, sustainable and low carbon solutions for our clients.

Here’s What You’ll Need:
Undergraduate degree (2:1 or above) in Civil Engineering
Chartered or approaching chartership with ICE or CIWEM
Demonstratable knowledge of Safety in Design and Designers responsibilities under CDM
Experience of outline, planning, tender and detailed design of structural and non-structural works in the fields of river engineering and/or flood risk management.
Ability to develop, price and agree scope of services;
Excellent literacy, communication, analytical and numeracy skills
