The Technical Operations teams sits within Digital Delivery in Transportation and plays a critical role in developing and promoting best practice to bring efficiencies and value to projects, clients and the business. It is an exciting time to be joining us, as you will have the opportunity to work on some of the most innovative, interesting and high profile transportation projects across a range of different sectors.

As Senior Project Information Manager (Technical) you’ll deliver on major schemes or frameworks within a portfolio. You’ll drive success by working closely with other digital and project teams, as well as supervising and supporting the Technical Operations team. You’ll report to and be supported by the Principal Project Information Manager who is leading the portfolio. As part of challenging today you’ll be central to the implementation and management of Jacobs processes and standards, client requirements and project technology workflows. Being responsible for the provision of front line support for any technology issues for your project or framework, you’ll be able to either resolve issues yourself or assign members of the technical operation team. You’ll be comfortable managing a challenging workload within a changing environment for both yourself and your team. As part of reinventing tomorrow you’ll have a keen interest in keeping up to date with developments in software and emerging technologies, making recommendations and sharing knowledge with the wider technical team. You’ll play a key role in driving innovation and automation, seeking opportunities from the current processes working collaboratively with the Technical Development Team. In addition, you will:

  • Work with teams to ensure they understand the relevant software packages and workflows, as well as develop and deploy the training

  • Ensure adherence to the BEP regarding technology and workflows

  • Be the primary liaison between the project team and Project Technology Services (PTS) group

  • Ensure the security of all digital project information. Including access to the CDE, and raise non-compliances where they occur

  • Ensure compliance to Jacobs/client requirements to ensure the success of the Suppliers Information Exchange at each delivery stage

  • Assist in reviewing the final Project Information Model

  • Ensure Health and Safety model displayed in 3D/2D models

  • Check and manage third party software capabilities and standardisation

  • Develop Jacobs Standards

  • Develop and test of software tool sets with the Systems and Tools team

  • Establish project technology workflows with a focus on standardisation and consistency

Here’s What You’ll Need:

• Knowledge of infrastructure engineering design, systems and technology

• Knowledge and understanding of BIM

• Experience in the application and deployment of relevant engineering software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Open Road / Rail, Revitzo and Infraworks

• Ability in the management and use of Common Data Environments such as ProjectWise, BIM360, Business Collaborator

• Willing and able to lead, manage, develop and motivate others

• Competent in the application of ISO 19650

Ideally, here’s what you’ll also have:

• A further/higher (or equivalent) education qualification in a related subject

• BRE or equivalent accreditation in BIM

• Knowledge of the production and management of workflows and processes

• Experience of developing ability and enthusiasm through training, learning and demonstration to delivery and technical teams
