We're looking for a Process Safety Engineer in  Boise, ID  who is excited about working on projects that enable the heart of our clients’ business. Process Safety Engineers at Jacobs:

Develop, implement, and monitor the Process Safety Management (PSM) and Risk Management Program (RMP) for Specialty Gas and Chemical Systems for the Boise Technology Development (TD) site to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental, health, and safety regulations. The Process Safety Engineer is expected to provide leadership and technical expertise to continuously improve the PSM and RMP Program by identifying areas of improvement and process risks and working with engineering and operations teams to develop effective solutions and procedures. The Process Safety Engineer will work closely with the Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) department, Facilities Operations, and other teams throughout Boise TD (Tool Development).

  • Scope: Boise TD Specialty Gas and Chemical Systems covered under OSHA PSM/EPA RMP

  • Tasks

  • Provide expertise for Process Safety Management (PSM) and Risk Management Plan (RMP) as required by OSHA and EPA.

  • Manage PSM elements readiness specific to Specialty Gas and Chemical Delivery Systems.

  • Support Environmental, Health, & Safety (EHS) with all elements of the PSM and RMP Program related to Specialty Gas and Chemical design, maintenance, and operation.

  • Ensure all PSI documentation is available and updated.

  • Revalidate Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) for OSHA PSM and EPA RMP-covered systems.

  • Track HazOp AIs and closure.

  • Work with Facilities operation teams to develop a Mechanical Integrity program and inspection plans.

  • Support other elements of OSHA PSM/EPA RMP, including operating procedures development, Emergency Response planning, training development, etc.

  • Evaluate changes for impact on existing processes, identify unmitigated risks, and work with engineering teams to develop mitigation plans before approving changes.

  • Preferred Background:

  • Engineering degree with experience in PSM implementation

  • Experience in HazOPs and Hazard Review for hazardous chemical delivery systems or equivalent

  • Familiarity with US Engineering Codes and Best Practices

  • Experience in semiconductor is a plus but not a limiting factor

  • Onsite support is preferred

Here’s what you’ll need :

*Bachelor of Science in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering, or related

*3 years of facilities-related engineering experience preferred (some experience in semiconductor fab facilities is highly preferred), with advanced knowledge of AutoCAD and design drawings; fluent computer skills including word processing, spreadsheet, database within MS Office Suite. Extensive understanding of Chemistry as it relates to safety hazards, environmental impacts, and mitigation strategies within the semiconductor industry.

The ideal candidate will also possess the following:

*Experience in semiconductor manufacturing facility design, supporting tool installation projects preferred

*PE preferred, depending on experience level

On-site field walks and design verification (Hybrid)

Relocation to Boise, Idaho
