Pollution Abatement/Chemical Engineer - Semiconductor Facilities
Support design and engineering of some of the most influential semiconductor manufacturer facilities in the world, and have a hand in transforming tomorrow. As a semiconductor Fab Support Chemical Engineer you will be responsible for providing high quality engineering services for planning, design, construction, operation, and maintenance of site pollution abatement systems in support of semiconductor manufacturing. In this role, you will work within the Fab Support organization and with Engineering (Process, Equipment, Hazard Analysis) and equipment vendors to develop successful pollution abatement strategies and systems. Responsibilities include working in a team effort with other engineering, operations and construction disciplines, process hazard analysis (PHA), and tool owners to provide detailed designs and specifications for the installation of capital equipment and systems.
As the Pollution Abatement Engineer, you’ll:
Meet design completion schedules with cost-effective and accurate project design information.
Participate in Hazard and Operability studies (Haz-Ops).
Reviewiprocess by-products from production equipment and recommending abatement strategies.
Develop sequence of operations (SOO’s) for abatement designs.
Provide engineering and review of facilities work orders and provide support to PAC operating personnel.
Responsible for maintaining various administrative and engineering data bases in support of job tracking, engineering data, equipment facilitation, etc.
Specify critical components for design projects and is responsible for assuring designs meet all applicable codes and regulations. This requires continual review and analysis of new and existing, equipment, applications, and technology.
Provide code review and analysis utilizing (but not limited to): IFC, IBC, NEC, NFPA, FM, and Semi standards specific to abatement systems.
Be aware of and perform all work in accordance with company and client safety guidelines.
Implement safety into all engineering designs.
Communicate within the PAC organization, and with all customers throughout the organization.
Standard Utility Detail (SUD's) Development & Maintenance.
Completion of Flammability Calculation information for install projects.
ECBP Design & Signoff - Tool Install Projects.
Create Interlock and safety testing check sheet for each project (Commissioning sheet).
Material Selection & Compatibility Review – Fore line and Exhaust line Components.

The minimum qualifications for this position are:
A Bachelor’s of Science in Chemical Engineering, or related
Minimum 4 years of related engineering experience, with advanced knowledge of AutoCAD and design drawings; fluent computer skills including word processing, spreadsheet, database within MS Office Suite. Extensive understanding of Chemistry as it relates to safety hazards, environmental impacts, and mitigation strategies within the semiconductor industry.
