Jacobs is seeking motivated Project Architect to join our growing team of multi-discipline professionals, delivering outstanding program management, planning, design, and construction management services to our clients in the NW and across the globe. Jacobs’ core markets include corporate, transportation, municipal, federal, aviation, life sciences, technology, and industrial, where Jacobs continues to be an industry leader.

Our Project Architects support the Design Managers and Project Managers, to assist in leading designs, BIMs, construction documents, developing renderings and virtual environments, and presentation materials. you are accountable for project design quality performance and team communication. Responsible for the development, issuance and content of deliverables, technical content of documents and coordination of disciplines including consultants and for the supervision of all staff producing documents on your projects.

  • Ensuring overall design intent of the project is incorporated into the detailed documentation as well as monitoring the design process from conceptual phase through construction administration, ensuring the design is properly conveyed and executed.

  • Developing specifications, collaborate with the project specification writer and coordinate drawings while ensuring accuracy on completed reports, plans, estimates and calculations.

  • Assist with the overall discipline strategy for producing the documents and identifying the sheets planned for each stage of the work. You’ll work with the BIM Manager to define and set up project team software parameters and work with the team to facilitate project standards.

  • Preparation of technical drawings and details while also ensuring that construction detail documentation conforms to Quality Assurance, Quality Control and best practice standards important to Jacobs’ policies and procedures.

  • Perform as the architectural discipline lead on certain projects, mentor the work of less experience staff and participate in professional development reviews and “Lessons Learned” sessions.

  • Communicate with involved parties; including contractors clients, stakeholders, and key industry partners.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

  • Professional Degree in Architecture (Bachelor or Master of Architecture)

  • 4-8 years of experience in an Architectural or Engineering organization

  • Working knowledge of model/rendering and design tools (including REVIT, AutoCAD, Enscape, Adobe Creative Suite, Bluebeam Revu)

  • Strong knowledge of design, trends, construction methodology, material application, and manufacturer-supplier appropriateness

  • Thorough knowledge of Building Information Modeling (BIM) and familiarity with project delivery methodologies including but not limited to; design-bid-build and design build.

  • Proficiency with building codes and standards (IBC, NFPA, OSHA), technical report writing, and specifications

  • Self-driven time management and organizational skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to travel to local project sites, some regional site locations

The Ideal Candidate will have:

  • Architectural Registration in any State, or in process of licensure

  • LEED AP BD+C, or strong interest and willingness to be certified

  • Construction Documentation experience in one or a number of the following markets: transportation facilities, aviation terminals; industrial and manufacturing facilities; and municipal buildings
