We're looking for a Senior Construction Inspector to be based in the Northwest Oregon area who is excited about working on projects supporting our clients’ business and business practices. Join us and you’ll have the chance to work on construction projects including roads, rapid transit, bridge, as well as industrial and commercial facilities. You’ll be accountable for working with contractors and subcontractors to ensure quality compliance, reviewing plans and specifications, construction record-keeping and traffic control inspection. You’ll also provide on-site assistance monitoring and visually inspecting material at receipt and installation as well as coordinate Third Party Testing Agency testing and sampling. Here’s what you’ll need:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent certified technical training required

  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in construction inspection for transportation projects with a strong background in bridges, retaining walls, and other related structures.

  • Knowledge of construction including material, methods, plans and specifications; associated safety requirements.

  • Perform calculations using algebra, trigonometry and geometry.

  • Able and willing to work day or night shifts and/or flexible schedules including weekends as required to support the project requirements.

  • Ability to pass Drug and Alcohol Test and register for required FRA Random Drug Testing Program.

  • Required to have and maintain a satisfactory driving record

  • Railroad experience with BNSF Rail Card and E-rail Safe Card or ability to complete (project requirement)

  • Ability to read and interpret roadway, structure, and bridge plans and specifications.

  • First Aid Card

  • Knowledge of construction including materials, methods, plans and specifications; associated safety requirements.

  • Ability to perform basic math calculations required for quantity/quality varication and contractor installed quantities.

  • Able and willing to work day or night shifts and/or flexible schedules including weekends as required to support the project requirements.

  • Work under exposure to inclement weather conditions.

  • Able to work with personal computers and applicable programs.

  • Promotes and maintains a safe working environment

Essential Functions: Intermittent sitting, walking, standing, bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, twisting, and lifting. Lifting requirements limited to 20 lbs. in the form of supplies, drawings, etc. Longest distance carried of 50 feet. Hand manipulation is required for simple grasping, pushing and pulling, and fine manipulation. Right and/or left hands utilized. Occasional need to reach and/or work above the shoulder, for supplies, as well as below the shoulder for same. No foot controls necessary. Must be alert to equipment in the field, there will be occasional travel, will work near construction job site equipment when in the field, occasional need to work near hazardous equipment and machinery, occasional need to walk on uneven ground, exposure to dust, gas or fumes, exposure to noise, extremes in temperature or humidity, and potential work at heights.
