Our Infrastructure Highway team is experiencing exciting growth in Idaho and we have a need for a Senior Field Inspector to join our team. You’ll join our team and assist our resident engineers and project managers in completion of inspection work in accordance with projects and client specifications. You will have the ability to gather and understand technical data for purposes of generating technical reports.
Utilizing your expertise to inspect construction methods and workmanship to ensure that contractors build roadways, bridges, traffic signals and related highway structures in accordance with plans and specifications, you’ll perform work related to transportation engineering activities such as design data collection, construction record-keeping and traffic control inspection.
Observe and inspect ongoing construction work.
Review plans and specifications to ensure that work is within compliance of plans and specifications. Complete pay sheets for actual work completed.
Maintain daily reporting of work in progress, status of completion, and discuss construction related problems with supervisor.
Performs other job responsibilities as assigned.
Able and willing to work day or night shifts and/or flexible schedules including weekends as required to support the project requirements.

High School Diploma or equivalent
5+ years of experience in construction administration/inspection
Experience with Idaho Transportation Department’s Standard Specifications for Highway Construction
Knowledge of construction practices and principles
Intermediate mathematical skills to perform field calculations
Ability to gather and understand technical data for purposes of generating technical reports
Interpersonal skills to work with contractors and/or project teams
Proficient in MS Office Suites
Ability and willingness to travel
A valid State’s driver’s license and the ability to pass a motor vehicle background check
Ideally, You’ll Also Have:
A technical school graduate or have a Bachelor’s of related to Engineering or Construction Management
Idaho Transportation Department WAQTC/IQP Certifications.
This position will mostly be a seasonal assignment based in Idaho; estimation will be 6-9 months.
Compensation Rate: $35-45 an hour (based on experience)
Per-diem (lodging & food): 7 days a week at $155/day = $1085/week (tax free)
