Our established Structural team in New England is seeking a Group Leader who will provide leadership and direction to a growing team who provide innovative solutions for bridges as well as buildings for our infrastructural clients. As Group Leader, we’ll look to you to help manage and balance resourcing needs within the team, network across the business to seek opportunities, identify career development opportunities for your team, and to be a champion for your staff’s growth, well-being, and development at Jacobs. Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

• Receives general operational guidance from the local office management.

• Plans, directs, and coordinates activities of projects to ensure the goals or objectives of these projects are accomplished within prescribed time frame and funding parameters.

• Establishes and maintains relationships for future or potential projects.

• Provides operational supervision and technical guidance to Project Manager(s), Project Engineers and Designers in the Structural Group

• Maintains contact with senior client management, office management and managers of applicable departments within Jacobs and other engineering firms engaged in projects relating to the transportation services program.

• Establishes and implements staffing plans to permit effective handling of current and projected workloads

• Regularly monitors the progress of projects or tasks through project management reviews

• Directs/guides responsible Project Managers to take appropriate corrective actions in a timely manner.

• Directs and supervises the activities of assigned personnel and provides for and enforces proper delegation of management authority, responsibility, and accountability.

• Establishes and maintains relationships with clients.

• Establishes work plan and multi-disciplinary staffing for each phase of project and arranges for recruitment or assignment of project personnel.

• Directs and coordinates activities of Project Engineers, Engineers, and Technicians to ensure project progresses on schedule and within prescribed budget.

• Initiates and reviews price proposals.

• Participates in interviews and presentations as applicable.

• Maintains positive relationships with current and past clients as assigned. Informs Operations Manager of potential opportunities to market services.

• Serves as a representative of Jacobs at meetings, presentations, and public hearings/reviews relative to assigned projects.

• Coordinates work share with other offices in Jacobs to deliver projects.

• Builds relationships within Jacobs to determine unique technical skills that can be delivered to the market.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering

• Demonstrated history of direct supervision of others during execution of design or project management of bridges and/or infrastructure building facilities

• Substantial professional years experience on transportation projects is required

• Several years experience as a Project Manager on complex transportation structural projects is required.

• Professional Engineer (PE) License in Massachusetts or the ability to obtain within six months. Professional Engineer (PE) License in other New England states preferred.

• Established rapport with New England DOT clients

• Must have developed the following skills: engineering knowledge, leadership, oral and written communication skills, planning, teamwork, decision making, judgment and problem solving

Ideally, You’ll Also Have:

• Master’s Degree Preferred
