Principal Sediment Consultant

Description

This position is responsible for leading the development and execution of solutions that can be tailored to the unique needs of our clients particularly related to sediment management issues. A strong knowledge of technology applications and how to apply them to bring the best value to a particular customer’s needs is strongly desired for this position.

Our Principal Environmental Consultant careers provide you with the opportunity to solve some of the most complex and high-profile sediment management projects that clients face. You will be responsible for working with our technology solutions and sales teams to develop winning approaches for sediment opportunities, positioning with clients for future opportunities, augmenting our brand in the market place and packaging solutions to create differentiators with our target clients. In addition, you will serve as a client-facing technical leader to help clients solve their sediment management and remediation issues working hand-in-hand with project team members on our most challenging projects to ensure the projects meet the technical quality our customers expect form our firm. We expect you to provide strong technical input into our technology practice and mentor/ train more junior staff for career development. You should be a self-motivated professional with at least 20 years demonstrated experience as a subject matter expert in sediment management who, in addition to demonstrating the ability to perform in this role as described above, can demonstrate active productive relationships with their current clients.

We expect that this Principal Environmental Consultant role will:

  • Have existing experience with strategy development and execution for the full life cycle of sediment management projects.

  • Have proven leadership in solving complex, large-scale sediment projects with particular focus on sustainable and cost-effective remediation approaches.

  • Perform as thought leaders in their areas of expertise.

  • Have proven track record of positive regulatory relationships.

  • Build strong relationships with commercial clients to solve their toughest challenges.

  • Ensure quality of projects and efficiency of project delivery.

  • Act as a senior technical consultant on projects involving environmental services and technologies.

  • Have the ability to, and be excited about, travel to our clients, project teams and project sites.

  • Help develop and execute an approach to create Jacobs market differentiation and improved market share.

  • Use technology innovation to value price, shape markets, and partner, to achieve Jacobs business goals and objectives.

Qualifications

  • BS Degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Geology, or related degree

  • At least 20 years environmental-related experience, including a focus on sediment management

  • Experience in sediment remediation solutions for private clients

In addition to the requirements, the ideal candidate will also have the following:

  • License (PE, PG, etc.)

  • MS degree
