Reporting to the Group Manager, this role will work closely with architectural design and technical leadership as well as engineering discipline project leads to design, develop, document, observe, and administer the construction of complex projects.
Researches, programs, plans, designs, and administers building projects for clients, applying knowledge of architectural design, construction detailing, construction procedures, zoning, building codes, building materials and systems.
Plans and programs layout of project(s); coordinates and integrates engineering elements into a unified design for client review and approval.
Proactively assists with coordinating for multi-discipline team and sub-consultants for an integrated design solution.
Works independently to problem solve, ability to assess and generate creative solutions.
Understands and generates area calculations for building program, code, zoning, BOMA.
Utilizes computer-assisted design software and equipment to prepare project designs and plans.
Working with the Project Manager, may check activities of workers engaged in preparing drawings and specification documents for all phases of a project.
Collaborate with the Project Manager in developing, maintaining and revising project budgets.
Actively participates and manages Construction Administration, conducts on-site observation of work during to monitor compliance with design documents. Candidate must be familiar with construction administration process and have an interest in construction phase work.
Represents Jacobs in a positive manner at meetings, presentations and events.
Minimum of 5 years’ related experience in building design and construction is required
Bachelors in Architecture is required
Masters in Architecture is preferred
Registered Architect in Massachusett is required
Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD is required
Proficiency in Sketch-up, Adobe Creative Suite is preferred
Thorough knowledge and application of zoning and building codes is required
Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required
Strong organizational skills is required
Active in local organizations (i.e. BSA, ULI) is preferred
LEED AP (BD C) is required.
