The energy industry is undergoing rapid and dramatic changes, moving away from fossil fuels to alternative energy sources. At the same time, the risks posed by climate change and aging infrastructure requires an array of dynamic and innovative solutions to deliver resilient energy services.

This energy transition is still in its early stages, and presents significant technical, logistical, and market challenges. Decarbonization will require detailed planning, multi-disciplinary collaboration, significant financial resources, and motivated staff to support successful implementation. Jacobs is expanding our team to tackle the delivery of hydrogen related projects to deliver a cleaner and more secure energy future.

As a, you’ll work closely across operations, sales, and technology functions providing leadership as we expand our hydrogen projects portfolio. You can be based anywhere in North America. Your primary responsibilities will focus upon 1) development and technical delivery of hydrogen related projects for utility, industrial, transportation and municipal clients to support Jacobs’s growth in the Energy Transitions market, and 2) leadership as a subject matter expert in collaborating with sales professionals on pursuits of strategic importance to the firm. This will include client interface, team building, and development of differentiating strategies.

You’ll be expected to possess highly collaborative and sophisticated communication and problem-solving skills and finesse. Successful candidates will have a demonstrated ability to anticipate challenges and manage “up and out” while supporting teams responsible for the daily details of project delivery.

You will have held roles of increasing responsibility in supporting hydrogen related feasibility studies, engineering design, construction, and operations including management of single projects to delivery of complex programs. This is not a development position, but a role considered by Jacobs to be a leader in the growing Hydrogen Market.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

• Bachelor's or Advanced Degree in Engineering

• Substantial years of engineering and project management experience

• Technical proficiency with hydrogen production (electrolysis), storage and distribution systems (pipelines) including the production and handling of liquid hydrogen

• Technical proficiency with hydrogen fuel cell systems, including the systems integration between hydrogen storage, fuel cells and batteries

• Experience of hazard/safety assessment of hydrogen systems and knowledge of hydrogen codes and standards

• Experience with industrial process engineering (mechanical, electrical, control systems),

Proven leadership skills in developing project delivery teams
