Position Summary

The Telecom ConstructionManager is responsible for the project's construction schedule, expenses, andquality and safety. This position also manages the resources performing theconstruction work including direct reporting staff, matrix staff, and vendorand subcontractor resources.

  • Must maintain and enforce the Jacobs Beyond Zero safety program, ensure daily job site safety plans are reviewed and followed, and stop work when unsafe work practices or conditions exist

  • Provides on-site analysis of ongoing specific construction projects; utilizing higher level construction managers or project managers for advice on changes in plans

  • Interface with the client's engineering team, as well as utilizing the company's engineering and management team for decisions

  • Installs the quality program for Jacobs and subcontractors work, making certain all quality standards are met to customer specifications

Qualifications

  • Up to 100% travel required

  • Clear understanding of quality and third-party audit requirements required

  • Clear understanding of turnover and closeout requirements required

  • Experience in creation and implementation of tools and processes to track, report and execute projects required

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience supervising cell tower construction, upgrade and maintenance work preferred

  • Engineering or technical degree preferred

  • Experience and proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word

  • Capable of training members of the team as required and flowing down changes and modifications of requirements through the organization

Essential Functions: Intermittent sitting,walking, standing, bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, twisting, andlifting.Hand manipulation is requiredfor grasping, pushing and pulling, and fine manipulation. Right and/or lefthands utilized. Need to reach and/or work above the shoulder, as well as belowthe shoulder for same. Must be alert to equipment in the field, there will be travel,will work near construction job site equipment when in the field, occasionalneed to work near hazardous equipment and machinery, occasional need to walk onuneven ground, exposure to dust, gas or fumes, exposure to noise, extremes intemperature or humidity, and potential work at heights.
