About the Opportunity
Jacobs are seeking a Civil Engineer to support the Civils Engineering Lead on the Hinkley Point C Project. This role focuses on modifying and adapting the design received from the Back Office, substantiating the adapted design of the reinforced concrete structures and associated interfaces on the project. The role will be based on site at the HPC within a multi-disciplinary team, working to key project deliverables on delivery time, schedule, safety and nuclear safety. Key responsibilities will be:
Receive, analyse and verify the consistency of the input data
Modifying concrete structure designs (including interfaces) compliant with relevant codes
Maintaining QA procedures in delivering the design
Working and reviewing with the designers in the preparation of the design drawings/models modified
Managing engineering changes in line with company procedures
Liaising with colleagues in Paris (Malakoff), Bristol or Tours
Engagement with subject matter experts

Note2: Based on our Client office Monday to Friday – 40 hours per week
Note3: Travel and Subsistence as follow:
Site based role, > 3 months, individual lives in Residency Zone (30min from Park and Ride) – member of staff receives £100.00 per working day subject to tax (e.g. 5 days per week) via their employer
Site based role, > 3 months, individual lives outside of the Residency Zone (over 30min from Park and Ride) – member of staff receives £100.00 per day subject to tax (e.g. for each day on site) via their employer as long as they stay overnight in the residency zone
Note4: Service Incentive - on completion of 12-month continuous service in post – there is a salary uplift of 5% paid
Note5: Please provide travel plan to Hinkley Point C site to undertake this role / salary expectation / current notice period on Cover Letter with this application
Here’s What You’ll Need:
Degree educated ideally within Civil Engineering
Knowledge of Structural Civil Work, Civil Design and Construction
Understanding of Nuclear civil work OR complex structures
Experience in design of concrete structures
A background in detailed design or conceptual design in an office or on a civil construction site
Experience on projects dealing with material interfaces
