About the Opportunity
We are seeking a Layout Engineer Team Lead to support with the scope of transfer into the UK for the layout of the mechanical, electrical, heating and ventilation of buildings within the Hinkley Point C site. The Layout/MEH Team Lead is a key member of the ITB organisation and the main reference of the HPC Reactor Building (HR) layout for the UK back office. The Layout/MEH Team Lead reports operationally to the Building Manager and functionally to the Layout Discipline Group Lead. Key responsibilities in the role will be:
Driving the scope transfer from France to the UK with regards to the layout/MEH perimeter
Ensuring the correct management and development of the HPC HR building product regarding its layout/MEH scope
Coordinating the production of deliverables and/or rework associated to their scope by meeting the project deadlines
Ensuring technical accuracy and quality of deliverables through the application of the appropriate review and approval process
Operationally managing layout engineers working in the building team
Providing technical expertise to their team and interfaces
Leading the coordination with the relevant counterparts in France and UK by ensuring seamless communication
Identifying and specifying the requirements of the relevant discipline scope and interfacing with other leads and/or external parties as appropriate
Contributing to further scope transfer within the organisation
Here’s What You’ll Need:
Degree qualified in appropriate technical discipline
Relevant experience in the design of Nuclear Buildings
Relevant experience in one or several areas of engineering: piping engineering, mechanical, HVAC and safety
Knowledge of the Hinkley Point C project context
Pro-active attitude to lead people and problem solving mind-set
Good knowledge and understanding of general layout rules
Knowledge of the general operation of a nuclear power station and the associated safety aspects
Understanding of PDMS 3D design software, Autocad 2D and Navisworks software (consultation)
