About the Opportunity

Dreadnought Supply & Support Team (DSST) – Infrastructure Requirement & Risks support to MOD. The successful candidates can be based in Bristol, Barrow in Furness or Clyde.

  • Our long-standing team supporting the Ministry of Defence’s (MOD) Dreadnought submarine programme provides support to the Dreadnought Supply & Support Team (DSST) Infrastructure project.

  • The team provides submarine engineering and through life support expertise focused on requirements, assumptions, risks, opportunities etc to assure the availability of UK and US infrastructure to support the Dreadnought class of submarines.

  • Our team members are embedded or work closely with the MOD’s teams based at Abbey Wood, HMNB Clyde and BAES Barrow and engages with government and Tier 1 industry suppliers.

  • Our current contract is expected to be replaced with a new 3-year contract from April 2022 with great scope requiring additional resources.

  • The 2 full time roles will involve a mix of engineering, infrastructure, requirements, risks, project controls and technical administration and will support our Project & Delivery Manager and his team of submarine Subject Matter Experts (SMEs).

  • You will work with a small team of Jacobs SMEs and our MOD clients (military staff and crown servants) in a very collaborative team.

  • The role is UK based, with some travel to MOD and BAES sites as required by the PM, and possible travel to US facilities on an ad hoc basis.

Essential:

  • Strong team player.

  • Good communications skills and willingness to engage with a broad spectrum of project stakeholders.

  • Ability to assimilate detailed technical and project control information.

  • Competent in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint

  • UK sole national with SC.

Desirable:

  • Understanding of MOD projects, ideally maritime but not essential.

  • Knowledge of requirements and risk management; experience in the use of MOD project tools such as DOORS, ARM etc.

  • Experience of, or keen willingness to join, a high-profile defence project.
