Role Outline

Various levels of experienced personnel are required. Experience of Government risk methodologies and their application in complex Programmes/Projects is beneficial.

Role is within UK MOD, covering risk identification, quantification, treatment, management and analysis relating to complex programmes and projects.

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities

  • Ability to develop, improve and adapt risk tools, techniques and processes to fit the requirements of the team and the business

  • Ability to engage with relevant stakeholders to facilitate risk activities

  • Risk point of contact for appropriate projects, ensuring relevant interface across stakeholders

  • Ability to contribute to and produce relevant risk related documentation including register

  • Ability to review management information, provide business insight and work alongside colleagues to help deliver the support strategy and policy

  • Understanding of risk management techniques and tools

  • Preparation and maintenance of Risk Registers and associated documentation

  • Confident in dealing directly with programme and project representatives

  • Understand the impact of any changes to the platform/equipment on associated risk documentation

  • Providing input to the development of risk strategies and compliance to support approval submissions for projects

  • Contributing to the development of business case information

  • Assessing the impact of any proposed changes to the risk plan

  • Ensuring that appropriate controls are in place and that any change or treatment are compliant with governance

  • Ensuring that any changes to the risk register are communicated effectively to the relevant teams

Qualifications

Minimum of 2-5 years’ experience of developing risk management for complex programmes and projects including associated tools and techniques

  • Completion of the Management of Risk Qualification at Foundation or Practitioner level or knowledge equivalent to a Risk Management degree is desirable

  • Knowledge of relevant ARM, @Risk, Predict! and Primavera Risk systems would be beneficial.

  • Minimum of QCF Level 3 in a relevant subject

  • Ability to achieve Security clearance to SC level or higher
