About the opportunity:

Our Water and Catchment Management sector provides a focus for advising our clients on delivering sustainable drainage, flood risk management and civil engineering solutions. Water and Catchment Management comprises in excess of 400 staff based in the UK and Europe, but with reach into the Middle East, Australasia and America.

To meet our growing UK business needs and future development aspirations we currently have an opportunity for a Senior or Principal geomorphologist to sit within our Water Science and Hydromorphology team in the UK (location either Bristol or Winnersh). The successful person will become part of a respected and ambitious company with excellent career prospects and international opportunities.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Providing specialist geomorphological input to a variety of projects, in particular, but not limited to aspects of river restoration, Water Framework Directive and design development for, flood risk management, infrastructure or engineered remediation projects

  • Authoring complex assessments / reports.

  • Mentoring a supporting junior staff, including checking and reviewing their work.

  • Contributing to or technically leading the production of bids on geomorphology related matters

  • Providing support to experienced project managers.

  • Liaison with contractors, stakeholders and regulators.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

  • Undergraduate degree (2:1 or above) in in in Geology, Geomorphology, Geography, Environmental Science, Ecology or a related field

  • Rounded knowledge and practice of fluvial geomorphology

  • Chartered with ICE or CIWEM

  • An inclusive attitude and the ability to work effectively as part of a diverse team

  • Experience of staff management and development

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications

  • Experience of liaising with clients and managing projects
