Join Jacobs as an Environmental and Waste Management Consultant and embark on a transformative journey where you'll play a pivotal role in supporting the region's wellbeing, land regeneration, climate action, infrastructure efficiency, and economic diversification. At Jacobs, we are actively partnering with our clients to deliver strategic advisory, city and regional scale land planning, development of waste management strategies and plans, environmental planning and permitting, and digital delivery. As a key member of our team, you will have the opportunity to make a lasting impact on the region's sustainability efforts. In this role, you will sell and deliver growth opportunities with private, commercial, and governmental clients in the areas of general environmental and waste management consulting services. You will support the wider environment team on tasks such as environmental permitting and planning, audits, management plan development, supervision, policy development, specialist technical inputs, and project coordination. Additionally, you will participate in client interactions and delivery, fostering strong relationships and ensuring client satisfaction. You will also identify changes in the market and new opportunities within the target market that align with our business plan and maintain ongoing working relationships with multi-disciplinary professionals within and across relevant sections and operations to facilitate efficient communication on all technical aspects of project tasks.

Here’s what you’ll need :

As a successful candidate you will have a degree from a recognized university in an appropriate field such as environmental engineering, sustainability, or related disciplines. You should also have 3-4 years of experience in solid waste management, including strategies for waste minimization, recycling, and solid waste logistics. Environmental generalist experience in supporting ESIAs and masterplans is preferred. Experience in countries with evolved environmental regulatory and legislative structures and 3 years of GCC regional market experience with prior exposure and understanding of key clients, regional growth strategies, and critical environmental issues faced by the region are also desired. Preferred experience includes the development of solid waste strategies and plans, understanding of sustainability credit systems and KPIs, a reasonable degree of experience in multidisciplinary coordination, ability to review architectural drawings and provide design input, ability to support in the development of drawings and equipment specifications for solid waste systems, experience in supporting the development of ESIAs in compliance with regulatory requirements, understanding of environmental regulations across key Middle East markets such as KSA, UAE, and Qatar, and experience in supporting the development of project presentations. Additional preferred experience includes understanding design requirements for pneumatic waste collection systems and experience undertaking feasibility studies for Material Recovery Facilities (MRF) and organic waste management facilities, At Jacobs, we believe in empowering our employees to reach their full potential.
