As a Senior Coastal Engineer/Project Manager, you will lead the delivery of marine projects across the Middle East. You will be responsible for managing a team to deliver technical design work that includes the preparation of design calculations, drawings and reports. You should be a committed and motivated manager with strong technical experience and passion for marine and coastal engineering. You should have a track record that shows technical skills and project leadership.

You will be responsible for the overall delivery of marine projects and lead the day-to-day interaction with our clients. You will be responsible for directing the project team to deliver all aspects of the project. You will be responsible for overseeing the technical delivery of project tasks including preparation of reports and presentation of engineering designs. You will be expected to coach junior engineers in technical aspects of marine and coastal engineering. You will be required to interact and coordinate with Jacobs global marine and coastal engineering teams. Coordinating resources and support for your project delivery.

Experience of the following is preferable:

  • Strong track record in project management and delivery of marine/coastal design projects and project teams. Good people management skills.

  • Design experience of breakwaters, beaches, groynes, dredging and reclamation and other coastal maritime structures. Knowledge of associated tools and techniques.

  • Knowledge of the design of marinas would be an advantage.

  • Familiar with coastal numerical modelling would be an advantage.

  • Knowledge of authority requirements for waterfront and marina projects would be an advantage.

  • Waterfront development master plans, beach and edge protection design.

  • Excellent communication, with strong verbal and excellent written English and presentation skills.

  • Strong client facing skills. Ability to communicate confidently and effectively with colleagues and clients.

  • You must be able to manage your own time and that of your team members to ensure successful delivery of tasks.

  • Experience in technical proposal preparation and work winning would be an advantage.

  • You will enjoy working as part of an international team.

Here’s what you’ll need :

As a successful candidate you will have a relevant degree in Coastal, Civil, Marine or Ocean Engineering (from a recognized University) as well as having 7 years of experience with marine and coastal engineering. Experience working in the Middle East is advantageous, as is being a qualified member of a recognized institution or organization (to include but not necessarily be limited to ASCE, ICE, IMarEST, etc.).
