Jacobs Construction Manager in Burnaby, British Columbia

We’re looking for a Construction Manager to be based in British Columbia, Canada, who is excited about working on projects that support our clients’ businesses and practices. Key Responsibilities

  • Manage large construction projects (>$100M), ensuring contractors meet all contractual obligations.

  • Oversee the construction contractor’s safety program and verify compliance with safety and environmental requirements.

  • Conduct weekly project management and progress meetings; prepare construction progress updates and monthly summary reports.

  • Review contractor submittals, shop drawings, and other design-related documentation.

  • Provide interpretation of drawings, specifications, and construction documents.

  • Coordinate and facilitate input from the client, design teams, regulatory agencies, and other stakeholders.

  • Maintain accurate records, including daily construction progress, inspection reports, and photographs.

  • Monitor contractor compliance with permit conditions and regulatory requirements.

  • Coordinate on-site inspections, quality assurance, and testing activities.

  • Resolve construction-related issues and ensure adherence to project schedules and budgets.

  • Assist with commissioning activities and participate in public consultations when necessary.

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.

  • 15+ years of proven experience in construction management, with a focus on large-scale infrastructure projects (preferably watermain/pipeline projects).

  • Comprehensive knowledge of construction practices, safety requirements, and regional regulations in British Columbia.

  • Experience with alternative project delivery methods and managing multiple capital projects.

  • Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng) designation in Canada.

  • Certified Construction Manager (CCM) certification.
