Our collaborative project team is seeking a Field Engineer to oversee, review contractor activities and act as a designate for the Engineer of Record for a number of contracts at an operational facility for an exciting project in Delta, BC. The Field Engineer will work in close collaboration with the Construction Area Lead and Engineer of Record.

Roles and Responsibilities

You’ll be responsible for:

  • · Support the Construction Area Lead in managing the Contract’s technical package by coordinating technical document and drawing updates as required.

  • · Support the Construction Team in providing timely resolution to technical Contractor requests for information

  • · Manage and record field modifications

  • · Attend Weekly Contractor meetings

  • · Confirming the quality and integrity of the technical deliverables

  • · Identify, correct, and report all recognized hazards, incidents, and non-conformances. Inform the CM and Construction Area Leads of any technical deviations

  • · Liaise with Construction Area Leads if any concerns/conflicts with the designs

  • · Identify any risks when on site and minimize impact to site operations

  • · Review the individual contractor execution plans and review and provide final disposition of all technical submittals

  • · Support the Construction Area Lead as needed to ensure sequencing of work aligns with the Owner’s operations and has minimal impact on the schedule and operations

  • · Support the Construction Area Lead by clarifying technical battery limits as needed.

  • · Ensure technical submittals within their scope are turned around in a timely manner by the engineering team.

  • · Prepare and submit all required engineering documentation to support Construction and Document Control Activities.

  • · Follow procedures developed and using formal communication pathways to communicate field design changes.

  • · Sign off on relevant ITP hold points as directed by the Engineer of Record.

  • · Support the Construction Area Lead to review Progress Claims for Lump Sump Contracts against existing MTOs as needed

Here’s what you’ll need :

  • Engineering Degree

  • 2 years of experience on construction sites

  • Ideally structural design experience

  • Work will require access to secure facilities and employment will be dependent on clearing a criminal background check
