As a Senior Environmental Data Management (EDM) Specialist you will have the responsibility of administering and coordinating the team of EDM and GIS staff, as well as performing EDM and GIS work. The work will involve the development and implementation of data management solution services for industrial clients. You will support multi-discipline teams of client and consulting staff in developing enterprise environmental information solutions.

Based out of one of our Canadian offices, you’ll be a key member of our EDM team, you’ll design, architect, and deliver complex technical solutions and be passionate about applying cutting edge technology. During your time with us, you will leverage your environmental data understanding and background, database, automation, and visualization skills while collaborating with experts in various disciplines to apply these technologies on a variety of projects. You’ll also be coordinating workload and tool development and implementation with Jacobs teams globally (such as in US, Canada, Europe, and Asia Pacific region). This position requires a self-motivated individual with the ability to balance work on multiple tasks, communication skills (written and verbal), organizational skills, and the ability to manage, mentor and grow teams within EDM. Here’s What You’ll Need:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Computer Science, Biology, Geology, Engineering Geography, or directly related discipline.

• Experience in environmental data management, chemistry, analytical data validation, ground water modeling, environmental data analysis and/or visualization.

• Experience with environmental software implementation in a consulting/industrial environment.

• Knowledgeable in one or more COTS EDM and EHS software package(s) such as EQuIS, ESDat, Enfos, Enablon, Intelex, and others.

• Experience with designing and automating digital workflows ranging from project planning, mobile data collection and data engineering, to data warehousing, database management, data analysis, and data visualization.

• Experience with managing and mentoring Junior Staff.

Ideally, You’ll Also Have:

• Experience with ESRI GIS software use, implementation, and administration a plus.

• Experience with business intelligence tools like MS Power BI.

• Experience setting up field teams for mobile data collection using EQuIS Collect, Collector for ArcGIS, Survey123, FastField, and Trimble GPS equipment a plus.

• Experience with database or programming platforms (for example, Microsoft Access, Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, Visual Studio, Visual Basic for Applications, HTML, Java/JavaScript, Python, R or similar).

• Significant experience with RDMS such as MS SQL Server: the ability to design and customize database schemas, write custom SQL for data querying, and provide custom reporting using SQL Server Reporting Services or comparable software solutions.
