Jacobs is seekinga qualified Information Technology (IT) professional to support the USSOCOMSITEC II Enterprise Operations and Maintenance (EOM) contract. JobDescription

Network LAN/WANAdministrators perform tier one and two network support in accordance with theSIE OPORD. This position provides administration of network and communicationssystems, including, but not limited to, Local Area Network (LAN) and Wide AreaNetwork (WAN) systems. NA need solid technical skills and experience with avariety of network protocols, software, and hardware involved in LAN and WANoperations. The position requires strong troubleshooting, analytic anddiagnostic skills, along with good communication abilities. This positionrequires comprehensive knowledge of Government hardware, software, and networkcomponents. Network LAN/WAN Administrators are responsible for creatingmonitoring reports and managing equipment logs, as well as ensuring thefunctionality of links. This position coordinates network administration andperformance requirements with other members of the networking team; identifies,analyzes, and documents long-range requirements, and administers resourcesrelated to the enterprise network; prepare technical implementation plans thatprovide integrated solutions, including actions, milestones, timelines andcritical paths required for complete solutions. This position researchesapplicable standards and requirements documents to assure network compliance.Network LAN/WAN administrators plan for and provide reasonable responsivenessin terms of network performance (e.g., availability, reliability, andthroughput). This position prepares activity and progress reports for theGovernment regarding network performance initiatives.

Typicalduties include:

  • Administeringthe operation of LAN/WAN-related network services according to Governmentpolicies and procedures

  • Coordinatingand implementing network software and hardware upgrades

  • Troubleshootingand resolving LAN/WAN performance, connectivity and related network problems

  • AdministeringLAN/WAN security and malware control measures

Experience Requirements:

  • Aminimum of four years of increasingly complex and progressive experience in

  • implementing,administering, performing testing, and analyzing network systems.

  • Candidatesmust have experience with current technologies and, where required for the task,emerging technologies.

Certification Requirements:

  • DoDD8570.01-M IAT II or higher

AND

  • CCNA OR

  • CCDevNet Associate OR

  • ArubaCertified Mobility Associate (ACMA)

EssentialFunctions

WorkEnvironment

  • Workwill be performed inside a large facility. An inside environment may be acubicle (considerations: close quarters, low to moderate noise, bright or dimlighting). Outside work may include various environmental conditions includinghot, dusty, cold, icy and windy climates.

  • Workmay include travel with the military to participate in exercises in austereconditions

  • Workassignments vary based on client requirements.

PhysicalRequirements

  • Sittingat desk. Phone use and PC or laptop. Filing required. May require lifting andcarrying computer equipment, boxes of supplies or files up to 50 lbs. Extended periods of sitting while onPC/laptop or phone.

Equipmentand Machines

  • Generaloffice equipment, which includes: telephone, fax machine, copier, PC/laptop,and other miscellaneous office equipment. Servers, switches and other computerequipment used to support network operations.

Attendance

  • Regularattendance in accordance with established work schedule is mandatory. Shift Work may be required to supportoperations. It is important to be ableto work any shift/designated hours required.

  • Position may require night and weekend work and could includetravel with the military to participate in operations/exercises located inareas with field conditions.

  • Youmay be asked to continue performance in support of a war, contingency, orexercise (this includes: Contingencyoperations; Humanitarian or peacekeeping operations; or Other militaryoperations or exercises designated by the Combatant Commander). Thisperformance in support of U.S. military forces may require work in dangerous oraustere conditions.

  • Youmay be asked to continue performance during inclement weather or otherconditions when others are not permitted to work

  • Positionrequires at least 1-year commitment. Early termination or transfer from this position to a CONUS location mayresult in wage garnishments for relocation, travel and other expenses paid bythe company

Travel

  • ExtendedContinental and Oversees travel will be required. May be required to attend off sitemeetings. Must obtain a current passportand applicable visa(s) prior to arrival in country. Must maintain a current passport andapplicable visa’s in good standing.

OtherEssential Functions

  • Employmentis contingent upon obtaining all required certifications within the timeframespecified in a waiver by the government (if applicable) and maintainingrequired certifications through the duration of the contract. Failure toobtain/maintain required certifications will result in disqualification forthis position and could result in termination.

  • Candidatemust exhibit a professional behavior that promotes teamwork, fosterscooperation, and enhances productivity in the workplace. Must be well organizedwith the ability to coordinate, prioritize and execute multiple taskssimultaneously in a high-pressure environment. Ability to communicateverbally and in writing to work effectively with a variety of foreignnational, government, military and contractor personnel at alllevels. Must be able to interface effectively with individuals at alllevels of the organization.

  • Groomingand dress must not pose a safety hazard to employees working in the samegeneral area.
