Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) Support (Client Tokens) – Local Registration Authority (LRA)
USSOCOM's mission is to “Provide fully capable Special Operations Forces (SOF) to defend the United States and its interests and synchronize planning for global operations against terrorist networks.” As a member of our team, you will partner with SOF military and civilian members to directly support this mission by providing world-class Information Technology services and support that connect over 60,000 users around the world.
CAC/PKI LRA support will provide Local Registration Authority (LRA) services in support of the USSOCOM. You will provide technical Cryptographic Modernization, Key Management Infrastructure (KMI), Common Access Card (CAC), and Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) support in the implementation of PKI daily operations in support of Classified (SIPRNet) and Unclassified (NIPRNet) Networks assigned to USSOCOM. This includes PKI support and services to support operations requirements for Army and Army supported organizations to include the Combatant Commands (COCOMs).
Local Registration Authority (LRA) - An LRA is an individual authorized by a Registration Authority to perform identity verification and human and component applicants, and the authorized issuance of certificates to human applicants.
PKI (client token) Support Specialists must be detail-oriented and have in-depth PKI knowledge to provide Local Registration Authority (LRA) services. Candidates must provide technical support for Cryptographic Modernization, Key Management Infrastructure (KMI), Common Access Cards (CACs), and PKI in the execution of daily operations.
Verifying the identity of subscribers
Pre-registering users with PKI
Validating certificate requirements and forwarding revocation requests
Supporting the issuance and renewal of Smart Card tokens
Support production of and delivery of an Issuance Report detailing number of tokens issued, revoked, renewed, and any issues encountered.
Support retention of all associated documentation for a period of 10 years and 6 months. The retention can be in an electronic format, i.e. scanned images (pdf). If stored in digital format, then originals can be disposed of appropriately.
Develop and maintain an OJT package.
Conduct duties as assigned through NSS/PKI RPS and DoD/PKI RA/LRA CPS.
Two (2) years of college and five (5) years of directly related experience with user-based PKI Support as well as hands-on experience working with PKI LRA support
Required Certification: Employment is contingent upon keeping required certifications current DOD 8570 IAT Level II or higher
