The position of Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Technician must be certified by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to handle Hydro Chlorofluorocarbons (HCFCs) and Chlorofluorocarbons (CFC). They install, operate and perform organizational and intermediate level repairs on field refrigeration and environmental control units for all ground operations and equipment. These duties include installing refrigeration systems according to engineering specifications; recovery of specified gases or fluids from systems; dismantling and testing malfunctioning systems using electrical and mechanical, testing equipment, and repairing systems by replacing or adjusting defective and worn parts. GCSS-MC, TCPT, and other AIS systems to complete daily tasks.
Here’s What You’ll Need:
The Contractor shall be able to obtain an operator’s license for non-tactical/tactical Government-owned equipment and be certified to transport hazardous materials.
Minimum Education/Experience Requirements: High School or GED equivalent and four (4) to six (6) years of relevant, progressive experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred candidates with USMC 1161 MOS or completed the Basic Air Conditioning Course, Tobyhanna Army Depot, PA.
Must possess an active Secret Security Clearance.
Work will be performed inside a large facility. Work assignments vary based on client requirements. Position could require some night and weekend work. Some travel may be required based on client requirements.
Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time. Phone use and PC or laptop. Filing required. May require lifting and carrying boxes of supplies or equipment up to 50 lbs. Must have sufficient mobility, included but not limited to: bending, reaching, turning and kneeling to complete daily duties in a timely and efficient manner.
Equipment and Machines
General Mechanic equipment, which includes: tools, pneumatic tools, hydraulic lifts, PC/laptop, and other work related tools as required.
Work assignments dependent on requirements by the client. It is important to be able to work at least 8 hours a day for 5 days per week (Monday through Friday). Must exhibit flexibility of work hours to adjust to surge situations based on critical mission requirements.

Candidate must exhibit a professional behavior that promotes teamwork, fosters cooperation, and enhances productivity in the workplace. Must be well organized with the ability to coordinate, prioritize and execute multiple tasks simultaneously in a high-pressure environment. Ability to communicate verbally and in writing to work effectively with a variety of government, military and contractor personnel at all levels. Must be able to interface effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization. Grooming and dress usually business casual, but dependent on client’s standards. Must not pose a safety hazard to employees working in the same general area.
