Our team is excited to add a Subcontracts Technician who can help us support our Biopharmaceutical Construction Management business while providing an opportunity to learn and grow within the field of Supply Management. The Subcontracts Technician will be assigned to support one of our large construction project teams under close supervision with the leading Subcontract Administration Professionals. They will be responsible for the hands-on management of small subcontract packages, will support Supply Management Systems, and take on new and exciting opportunities within the field of Subcontracts Management.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

  • Confer with subcontractors to obtain product or service information, interest, qualifications, and other upfront information.

  • Prepare Request for Proposal documentation for solicitation to selected bidders.

  • Manage bidder questions and clarifications through routine coordination with Engineering, Project Management, and Client representatives.

  • Review bid proposals and negotiate commercial terms with guidance from the lead Subcontracts Administration professional.

  • Draft and Issue Subcontract Documents to selected, and approved, contractors.

  • Utilize Jacobs’ Supply Management systems to update status and issue routine reports to Project Management and Clients.

  • Perform one-off tasks to support Subcontract Administration initiatives that help the Project.

Ideally you will have:

  • Experience using MS Office tools, including intermediate to advanced Excel skills.

  • BS or MS in an accredited program is preferred – preferably focusing on Business Administration, Operations Management or Supply Chain Management

  • An expressed interest in pursuing a career in Supply Management

  • Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Must pay attention to details and have the ability to exercise good professional judgment

  • Must have the ability to work and thrive in a team environment

  • Must have strong problem-solving skills

  • Must have a strong work ethic

  • Must be able to work well with others

  • A drive to solve complex and challenging problems.

  • Periodic travel to client offices, plants and work sites may be required
