Position Summary

Designs components or portions of systems, and modifies existing designs to develop or improve them.

  • Accomplishes results through experienced employees on team

  • Directs team members based on general policies and management guidance

  • Functions as unit advisor; involved in daily operations only to resolve complex problems and meet schedules

  • Frequent contact with internal and external individuals at all management levels

  • Some selection and application of established and specific procedures may be required

  • May assist supervisor in accomplishing field design work to ascertain current conditions, locate new systems and communicate with client personnel

  • Execute work within approved budgets, develop progress reports, interface with clients and direct he efforts of lesser experienced designers/drafters

  • Site work and periodic travel required

Qualifications

  • 15 - 20 years of relevant Piping Design experience required

  • Smart Plant Experience required

  • Proficient use of AutoCAD software required

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills required

  • Valid driver's license required

  • Other design software, such as MATLAB or Solidworks preferred

  • Advanced MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) preferred
