Jacobs is seeking a Refresh Telecommunications Specialist in Chantilly, VA. Duties will include:

  • Coordinate,schedule and conduct site surveys in the WMA area

  • Familiarwith current workstations and hardware setups

  • Conductdaily site survey consist of collecting (make, model, type, classification, andnetwork connections)

  • Travelto various customer sites to survey and collect information for workstationinstallation

  • Supporttech field specialists and management with accurate refresh information

  • Whenneeded work in the field a workstation installer

  • Abilityto learn new workstation hardware and software configurations.

  • Abilityto troubleshoot hardware and software issues when working in the field

  • Provideexceptional customer service

  • Abilityto operate scanners

  • Abilityto work independently, under minimal supervision and in a teamenvironment

  • Operateand manage company vehicle (log mileage and gas receipts) when traveling tovarious customer sites

  • Abilityto learn customer Enterprise Tools

  • Responsiblefor performing workstation installation in the field to support a 4 year lifecycle

  • Workingin a high pace environment installing workstations in the customer space

  • Workin team environment to fulfill daily upgrade activity metrics in customer locationsacross many buildings

  • Responsiblefor installation process including preparing devices and accessories for dailydeployment, upgrading workstations, completing required documentation, andensuring decommissioned devices are returned to home site

  • Troubleshootinitial installation issues

  • Understandand execute customer service and installation practices

  • Techniciansmay be required to work after hours if mission critical situations arise

  • Whenneeded conduct site survey consisting of collecting (make, model, type,classification, and network connections)

  • Other duties as assigned



  • TS/SCI with polygraph required

  • One (1) year of college in a computer field andthree (3) years of directly related experience, or any equivalent combinationof education or experience for a total of four (4) years. Progressive relevant training and/orcertification in appropriate discipline may be substituted for one (1) year ofthe education or experience requirement

  • Minimum qualifications:

  • Must be able to communicate effectively bothverbally and in writing

  • Must be able to interface with individuals atall levels of the organization both verbally and in writing

  • Proficiency in the use of MS Office productsuite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, SharePoint)

  • Experience with ESMT, Genesis, strong customer service communication skills, Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point

  • Ability to drive a 20 foot box truck

  • Willing to obtain a DOT Certification

Essential Job Functions

Work Environment:

GeneralOffice/warehouse environment: The work environment is fast-paced andsometimes involves extreme deadline pressures. The nature of the work requiresa high degree of teamwork and cooperation with other members of the staff aswell as individuals across the Company and Customers.

Physical Requirements:

Depending on assignment, work is primarilyperformed in an office environment and may including conditions vary from anoffice environment where work is primarily sedentary to environments whereextensive standing and/or walking; bending; lifting light to heavy objects orbeing exposed to noise, dust, dirt, etc. is expected.Must be able to bend and squat many times during the work day whileinstalling workstations at customer’s desk. Must be able to lift 40 pounds.

Equipment and Machines:

General Warehouse equipment ( i.e. HandheldScanner, Forklift, Pallet Jack , etc.).Customer applications; Word, Excel, HandheldScanner, Access, Internet, various internal databases to request and trackdata.


Attendance is critical at all times. Must be able to maintain regular, reliableattendance and ensure on time daily arrival. Must be able to work a 40-hourworkweek, normally Monday through Friday. However, times and days mayvary depending on business requirements.

Other Essential Functions:

Must take and pass a drug test, background check, motor vehicles check and be able to pass a DOT physical. Must have a valid driver's license. Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk/hazard to the employee or others. Must put forward a professional behavior that enhances productivity and promotes teamwork and cooperation.Mustbe well-organized with the ability to coordinate and prioritize multiple taskssimultaneously. Must work well under pressure to meet deadlinerequirements. Must be willing to travel as needed.
