Jacobs is seeking a Systems Engineer, Senior to join our team in Chantilly, Virginia!
The selected candidate will collaborate in a team environment to develop next generation RF processing system. The candidate will interface with internal and external customers to define provide engineering services for the development, design, fabrication, test, deployment, and operation of complex, multi-segmented RF processing systems. Typical systems are composed of antenna(s), RF front-end, tuner/digitizer, FPGA-based processing, PC-based processing, networking, GPS, data communications, and power management. This role focus on requirements derivation, design, implementation, and delivery of systems.
Duties/Tasks and Responsibilities:
Decomposition and allocation of requirements from customer provided requirement specifications
Identification and definition of system interfaces
Development and execution of system-level test and qualification plans, including functional, performance, and environmental requirements
Development, execution and review of technical analyses, trade studies, and other technical reports
Generation and execution of formal design reviews including SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR
Maintaining technical cognizance of all aspects of the system
Oversight of system procurement, fabrication, test, deployment, and operation
Position is contingent on contract award.
Here’s What You’ll Need:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field
Active Top Secret/SCI Security Clearance
Ten years’ experience as lead system engineer, responsible for the development of complex, multi-segmented RF processing systems
Five years’ experience in a system engineering lead role, developing complex systems, providing technical oversight, and resolving technical controversies
Proficient using DoD-compliant requirement management tools (such as Rational DOORS)
Proficient developing and executing MIL STD-810 environmental qualification plans
Proficient in the evaluation and selection of antennas, RF front-end, tuner/digitizer, and FPGA or PC-based digital signal processing solutions
Understanding of RMF Compliance and ICD503 standards
Proficient executing formal trade studies and technical analysis
Strong experience with digital signal processing (DSP) technologies
Experience with low-level hardware integration and embedded software technologies
Experience with modern source code control systems such as SVN and Git
Experience with Linux shell scripting (Bash and Dash)
Experience with Kubernetes and DevSecOps technologies
Familiarity with both virtual and bare metal server deployments
