Position Summary
In this role, the aviation civil engineering intern will support aviation civil engineering projects at general aviation, commercial and military airfields and perform in a team environment. This role supports our growing southeastern U.S. aviation practice. Such projects include, but are not limited to airfield improvements, land/site development, drainage, and other transportation tasks. The intern will:
Support the ongoing progress of projects, including the interacting with project managers and teams, clients, subconsultants, constructors, and other outside agencies as needed.
Conceptualize the initial civil design approach for land/site development, airfield improvements, drainage, and related projects and continue through the design phase as part of a design team.
Use AutoCAD, Civil3D and civil engineering theories, precepts and practices.
Plan and conduct work requiring evaluation, selection and substantial adaptation/ modification of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria.
Participate in construction administration.
Be a self-starter and responsible for quality work products, bringing ideas to our project teams and striving for your own professional growth.
Project work is located in Greensboro, NC.
Here’s What You’ll Need:
Passion for aviation
Work towards a four-year degree in Civil Engineering (BSCE or equivalent)
Goal to work towards a Professional Engineering (PE) certification
Experience working with AutoCAD or Civil3D is preferred
