Do you enjoy positively impacting air traveler experience by innovating more connected and sustainable solutions? At Jacobs, we do as well and are seeking an Assistant Project Manager and BIM Support professional to join our team with a purpose.

Our team is looking to add an experienced Architect/ Designer/ or BIM/ VDC professional in support of a multi-billion-dollar airport capital Redevelopment Program. The redevelopment will occur in the middle of an active airport. The existing terminal and concourses will remain operational while the new facility is built in place in a phased approach. This position allows for the opportunity to be a contributor to the growth of one of the busiest airports in the world as part of the program management team. The position will report to an assigned Project Manager. This position requires the individual to be based at the airport with the program management team. The position will be as part of a joint venture team and the selected candidate will be hired by one of the JV partners.

Position Responsibilities:

This assignment will have a primary focus as an assistant project manager supporting one or more of the PMO project managers with a secondary role of supporting the program’s BIM Lead.

More specific Assistant PM work efforts will include but not be limited to the following assignments:

Support project managers with management and coordination activities

Supports decision process for design project delivery method (task order service requests, term contracts, and requests for qualification/proposal).

Assists in the technical review of design and construction documents

Assists in the development of the project schedule

Assists in the development for design and soft costs

Complete site visits to evaluate and assess site architectural concerns and provide remediation recommendations

Evaluation of design alternatives

Provide miscellaneous technical support as required by the program

Assess potential program risks associated with materials, schedule, and costs.

Other duties as assigned

More specific BIM support efforts will include but not be limited to the following assignments:

Support management and coordination implementation and enforcement of standards on BIM projects

Install and provide support of related BIM software

Assist in providing hardware and network support as it relates to BIM production

Assisting in the utilization of BIM as a part of design reviews including the use of clash detection

Support BIM interface with Project Management Information Systems (PMIS)

Other duties as assigned

Here’s What You’ll Need:

  • At least 7 or more years of progressive experience in project management, BIM coordination or related tasks

  • Bachelors or higher degree in engineering, technology or related field

  • Ability to utilize computer systems as a tool to effectively manage tasks

  • Must have developed the following skills; general construction knowledge, leadership, oral and written communication skills, team work, decision making, judgment, and problem solving

  • Previous experience working in coordination of terminal/facilities design and management at airports is preferred

  • Experience with large aviation capital programs from a program/design management, design, construction, and/or operational aspect preferred

  • Previous experience with integration of new facilities with existing facilities a plus

  • Previous experience with the implementation and management of a BIM program for a major facilities project/program
