Our team is looking to add an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer in support of a multi-billion-dollar airport capital Redevelopment Program. The redevelopment will occur in the middle of an active airport. The existing terminal and concourses will remain operational while the new facility is built in place in a phased approach. This position allows for the opportunity to be a major contributor to the growth of one of the busiest airports in the world as part of the program management team. The position will report directly to the Program Design Manager. This position requires the individual to be based at the airport with the program management team. The position will be as part of a joint venture team and the selected candidate will be hired by one of the JV partners.

Senior Engineer - Electrical Position Responsibilities:

  • Assigned work elements will focus primarily on the field of electrical engineering with a focus on facilities design and analysis including:

  • Support project managers with technical needs regarding electrical project elements

  • Provide recommendations for the technical direction of the program

  • Pre-design support including preparation of Project Definition Documents

  • Participate in design review process as needed for all program elements

  • Verify projects comply with program and code requirements

  • Write RFQ, RFP and TOSR documents with an electrical project focus

  • Support the utilities team where needed with electrical load calculations for existing and future facilities

  • Support creation and update of electrical standards and specifications

  • Evaluate and review cost estimates

  • Participate in value engineering sessions

  • Evaluation of design alternatives

  • Provide miscellaneous technical support as required by the program

  • Prepare detailed engineering drawings and specifications for miscellaneous design assignments as directed by the client

  • Develop engineering calculations, diagrams and technical reportsAssess potential program risks associated with materials, schedule, and costs.

  • Other duties as assigned


  • 10 or more years of progressive experience in design of facilities electrical components including low voltage systems.

  • Previous experience on electrical components of terminal/facilities design at airports is preferred

  • A Bachelor's or higher degree in Electrical Engineering

  • A Professional Engineer’s license is preferred

  • Knowledge and experience in design and or construction of terminals, airport facilities, airside works, landside works

  • Specific knowledge of major terminal electrical systems and their functionality including electrical service, power distribution, low voltage systems, lighting, visual displays, dynamic and static messaging, etc.

  • Must have developed the following skills; general construction knowledge, leadership, oral and written communication skills, planning, team work, decision making, judgment, and problem solving

  • Experience with large aviation capital programs from a design, construction, and operational aspect preferred

  • Ability to utilize computer systems as a tool to effectively manage tasks
