The CTR Joint Venture provides program management, engineering and construction management services to the Chicago Department of Water Management (CDWM) in Chicago, Illinois. As part of the CTR program team supporting the CDWM Capital Improvement Program, CTR oversees inspection of water main and street restoration.
The primary responsibility of the Water Main Coordinating Engineer is to provide support to the construction inspection team for water main construction and street restoration as part of the CDWM water main replacement program. Functioning as the central point of communication between CDWM, CTR and the construction contractor for resolution of technical issues during construction.

Here’s What You’ll Need:
BS Construction Managemen, BS Civil Engineering, or related
Demonstrated engineering and construction experience in water/wastewater or transportation engineering, utility engineering, construction and/or project engineering, and/or general civil engineering/construction for public infrastructure design and construction
Excellent written and verbal communications skills
Experience in ability to interpret construction drawings, utility records and maps
Attention to detail in assuring deliverables are aligned with applicable City policies and standards
Ability to meet project and task deadlines
Proficiency with Microsoft applications including Windows, Word, Outlook, and Excel
Understanding of Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project
Ability to commute to/from multiple work sites
Ideally You'll Also Have:
- CCM (Certified Construction Manager), EIT (Engineer-in-Training) certification, or Illinois PE (Professional Engineer) license
