As a vital member of our Chicago team, you’ll have the opportunity to work on transportation projects that focus on bridges and other transportation structure designs.
As a Complex Bridge Engineer and a vital member of our Chicago team, you’ll have the opportunity to work on bridge and transportation structure design projects. You’ll coordinate design activities and meetings between Jacobs staff and subcontractors, perform quality reviews, prepare budgets and schedules for bridge design tasks. You’ll also help train, direct and mentor junior engineers and CAD staff. You will have the opportunity to grow our portfolio of projects with the Illinois Department of Transportation, Illinois Tollway, and Chicago Department of Transportation, in additional to being engaged on design work across the country.

Here’s What You’ll Need:
Illinois SE and PE registration
A minimum of 10 years bridge design experience with a background in steel girder design, prestressed concrete design, and earth retaining structure design.
Complex bridge experience
Thorough knowledge of AASHTO LRFD design code. Proficiency in Midas, Leap Bridge Concrete, and similar analysis and design software
Self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously and to direct the work of others
Project management or task management experience
Excellent focus on client service
Experience supporting proposal development
Ideally, You’ll Also Have:
Design-Build project experience
Project management experience
Business development experience
Experience leading proposal development
