The position is for a Project Engineer / Assistant Project Manager with emphasis in project controls and document control as part a program management team for a large healthcare client in Chicago, IL. The position will report directly to our Project Controls and Contract Manager Leads, serving an array of responsibilities in support of our onsite team, including oversight of the general contractor, architect, engineer and other owner vendors and/or subconsultant.
Document Controls responsibilities:
Prepare, track, review, and enter data and information into client provided data management system, e-Builder.
Manage, document and archive project correspondence.
Manage, maintain and audit project document control system(s).
Assemble project deliverables and prepare transmittals of data.
Attend meetings and document meeting minutes and action items.
Project Controls responsibilities:
Support Project Controls Manager in maintaining project controls systems
Support Project Controls team in disseminating, tracking and reviewing the overall change management plans for programmatic budget/costs, as well as construction budget/costs.
Assist in developing and maintaining budgets, work schedules, work and cost breakdown structures.
Develop and update resource plans.
Analyze and organize raw data on spreadsheets.
Assist in developing project monthly and weekly status reports.
Assemble monthly financial reports.
Prepare monthly client invoices.
Review vendor invoices for accuracy and completeness.
Bachelors of Science in an Engineering discipline, Construction Management or Architecture required (work experience may be considered as a substitute)
Minimum 3 years of document control and/or project controls experience required. Specialized training or education may be substituted for part of this experience.
Exceptional communications skills, both verbal and written.
Must possess good organizational and time management skills, with demonstrated ability to multi-task.
Adept at Microsoft Office Suite, especially MS Excel. Experience with other project control software is beneficially (ie Primavera, eBuilder), but not necessary.
Experience working in healthcare environment is also preferred.
Intermittent sitting, walking, standing, bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, twisting, and lifting. Lifting requirements limited to 20 lbs. in the form of supplies, drawings, etc. Longest distance carried of 50 feet. Hand manipulation is required for simple grasping, pushing and pulling, and fine manipulation. Right and/or left hands utilized. Occasional need to reach and/or work above the shoulder, for supplies, as well as below the shoulder for same. No foot controls necessary. Must be alert to equipment in the field, there will be occasional travel, will work near construction job site equipment when in the field, occasional need to work near hazardous equipment and machinery, occasional need to walk on uneven ground, exposure to dust, gas or fumes, exposure to noise, extremes in temperature or humidity, and potential work at heights.
