The Jacobs Returnship program has been designed for talented professionals looking to REFRESH SKILLS, REBUILD CONFIDENCE and REIGNITE CAREERS after an extended career break and absence from the workforce. This is paid, 16-week initiative with intent to transition our returners to permanent placement. As diverse as our business is, as are the opportunities we have available. Our cohort of Returnship participants will join multidisciplinary teams across a variety of divisions.
Your Impact:
Task Leader. Ability to prepare a scope of work, estimate of time and budgets outlining electrical engineering tasks with a multidiscipline project
Task Leader. Ability to manage a task scope, budget, and deliverables, within a larger multidiscipline project
Development of electrical drawings, control systems, roadway lighting plans, pump station plans using MicroStation, AutoCAD, or Revit software
Coordination with technical and non-technical disciplines to convey designs
Development of electrical power and distribution design concept reports
Design of lighting, power, grounding, and communication systems
As a participant, you will:
Experience 16 weeks of on the job learning and exploration with a diverse community of professionals from a wide range of backgrounds
Access the vast network of resources at Jacobs through continual leadership development, support and mentorship from our dedicated Returnship program team
Be confident that you will receive ongoing support and mentorship and support as you navigate the transition with us to permanent employment
Be a part of our Returnship cohort community participating in regular focus group feedback session and social events to facilitate a seamless transition as you return to the workforce
Here’s What You’ll Need:
8+ years related experience required
Bachelor of Science in Engineering required, Major: Electrical Engineering or a related field
Familiarity with the National Electric Code
Electrical design experience in buildings and facilities engineering
Illinois Professional Engineering license
Experience with the design of modifications to low voltage (480 V and below) electrical systems
You have had a career break of at least 1 year
You are interested in returning to work on a permanent basis (both part time and full-time options available)
