Our team is looking to add an experienced Senior Terminal Project Manager in support of a multi-billion-dollar airport capital Redevelopment Program. The redevelopment will occur in the middle of an active airport. The existing terminal and concourses will remain operational while the new facility is built in place in a phased approach. This position allows for the opportunity to be a major contributor to the growth of one of the busiest airports in the world as part of the program management team. The position will report directly to the Program Project Management Lead. This position requires the individual to be based at the airport with the program management team. The position will be as part of a joint venture team and the selected candidate may be hired by one of the JV partners.
Senior Terminal Project Manager Position Requirements & Responsibilities:
15 or more years of progressive management experience in Aviation Projects with a focus on terminals
A bachelors or higher degree in an aviation or program management related field
Knowledge and experience in design and or construction of terminals, airport facilities, airside works, landside works, and or airport planning with an emphasis on previous terminal management experience
Specific knowledge of major terminal components and their functionality including optimal configuration of terminal elements, understanding of major systems, security requirements (TSA & CBP), passenger processing, gate & holdroom configurations, baggage systems, concessions, APM’s, etc.
Must have developed the following skills; general construction knowledge, leadership, oral and written communication skills, planning, team work, decision making, judgment, and problem solving
Experience with large aviation capital programs from a design, construction, and operational aspect.
Must have ability for planning, directing, and coordinating the activities of projects from design thru construction to ensure that goals or objectives of these projects are accomplished within prescribed time frame and funding parameters.
Directing and coordinating the activities of 3rd party designers, other consultants, assistant project managers, engineers, and technicians to ensure project progresses safely, on schedule and within prescribed budget, maintaining expected quality and customer service level outcomes.
Developing, reviewing, and obtaining confirmation of financial and project delivery schedule activities of design and construction as they relate to all disciplines/trades involved.
Tracking of Key Project Metrics and reporting them.
Responsible for project reporting to Senior Executive level individuals on the performance metrics of the project that includes both written and oral presentations as applicable.
Identifying causes for revisions and or change events to projects and whether such changes are billable to the client or not.
Assuring that project team complies with the contract terms/agreements, as well as exercises rigid cost control to implement the approved design within established budget restraints.
Provides input on project delivery methods & contract packaging.
Will be responsible for working with the program team to identify resources for project implementation and track budgets and man-hours.
Ability to utilize computer systems as a tool to effectively manage projects
Other duties as assigned
BA/BS in related discipline of Architecture, Engineering or Construction Management preferred. Professional registration as AIA or PE preferred but not required.
Demonstration of progressive growth and management experience in the field is required.
