CCF Senior Systems Administrator

Provide the Code 7.2.4 with Microsoft Server system support services associated the Centralized Computing Facility at China Lake. Job responsibilities include customer lab computer system maintenance, IA compliance and modernization support.
Other administrative support tasks will include:
Microsoft and/or Linux server computer administration support that includes hardening, scanning, mitigating noted deficiencies and assisting in the achievement of network/Lab ATOs as requirements surface.
Deploy solutions needed for computer system hardware and software updates and repairs
Oversee the creation, administration and management of user accounts, system upgrades and optimize system operation to meet constantly changing customer requirements.
BS or BA degree in Computer Science, Information Systems Management, Mathematics, Operations Research, Statistics, or Engineering.
SUBSTITUTION: Eight (8) years of combined education (at the undergraduate level in any academic field) and experience performing the foregoing functions can be substituted for a BS or BA degree.\
At least ten (10) years of recent relevant experience providing System Administration support in a Navy/DoD or commercial computer lab environment. Experience with Unix server installation and modernization is required.
A U.S. DoD Secret Security Clearance is required at time of hire.
IT Level II compliance with DoD 8570 is also required. Employee Must possess Security and will have six months to acquire an operating system certification.
Working at a computer or desk (considerations: sitting, eye strain, hand strain)
May involve long periods of sitting or standing.
An inside office environment (Considerations: Closed quarters, lighting, and temperature fluctuations)
Needs to have clear, concise and accurate communication skills
Need to work well with, co-operate, and support clients, supervisors, and co-workers
Raised floors in computer room environments should be expected.
Equipment and Machines
Standard office equipment and machines, computer workstation as well as Servers and server racks.
Position requires safety training on ladders.
Normal hours are Monday – Thursday 7:00am – 5:00pm, non-flex Fridays 7:00am to 4:00pm
Punctuality and regular attendance are necessary to meet deadlines

Current driver’s license, car registration and auto insurance required
Must obtain a CAC card for computer system access, and receive SSBI clearance.
Must be DoD 8570 compliant with OS certification required for Level II IA positions within 6 months of assuming work
U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain an interim and a permanent U.S. DoD Secret Security Clearance required
