This position will be hired by a teammate company.
This support position will reside with the WDCDC Network Operations group and their customers at China Lake, NAWCWD. Candidate will report to the WDCDC Network Operations group as a member of the WDCDC Data Protection team. The Data Protection Administrator is responsible for installing, configuring, and managing and maintaining NetBackup technologies.
Primary responsibilities involve: maintaining magnetic tape, Data Domain appliances, and associated libraries for Federal Infrastructure Managed Services and its clients. The Data Protection Administrator is also responsible for ensuring that the data is accessible and recoverable.
Additional responsibilities include: capacity management, monitoring total capacity and performance using appropriate reporting and monitoring tools and manage, maintain and enhance the SAN disk Fiber Channel switched network infrastructure.
Education and Experience:
BS or BA degree in Computer Science, Information Systems Management, Mathematics, Operations Research, Statistics, or Engineering.
SUBSTITUTION: Eight (8) years of combined education (at the undergraduate level in any academic field) andexperience performing the foregoing functions can be substituted for a BS or BA degree.\
At least 3 years of recent relevant experience in systems administration.
At least 1 year of the total experience shall have consisted of performing computer specialist functions in a "Relevant Technical Discipline". Includes experience with client server systems and work in the area of DoD Information Assurance compliance testing on server system and the administration of Backup systems, SAN storage, and networking technologies.
Compliance with DoD 8570 is required within 6 months of assuming this position
- Security MicroSoft OS certifications are required.
Must have U.S. Citizenship and an active Secret/SSBI level U.S. DoD Security Clearance at time of hire.
Working at a computer or desk (considerations: sitting, eye strain, hand strain)
May involve long periods of sitting or standing.
An inside office environment (Considerations: Closed quarters, lighting, and temperature fluctuations)
Needs to have clear, concise and accurate communication skills
Need to work well with, co-operate, and support clients, supervisors, and co-workers

Standard office equipment and machines, computer workstation.
Working at a computer or desk
Normal hours are Monday – Thursday 7:00am – 5:00pm; non-flex Fridays 7:00am to 4:00pm
Punctuality and regular attendance are necessary to meet deadlines

Current driver’s license, car registration and auto insurance required
Must qualify for, and receive a DoD CAC card to perform this work
Completion of required certifications required within six (6) months of hire date - compliance with DoD 8570
U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain an interim and a permanent U.S. DoD Secret Security Clearance required and SSBI.
