Information Systems Security Officer IV

Serve as the (NMCI) Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO)for the NAWCWD Cyber Security Division (Code 7.2.6).

Duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Review & approval of NMCI access for Unclassified, Classified, and Developer accounts.

  • NMCI Incident Handling support

  • LRA Token Issuance Support

  • Q & A Process support for SAAR-NS

  • Developing Waivers, Privileged Access Authorization, and exception request processing.


Education and Experience:

Position requires two (2) years of college work in a research ortechnical field and three (3) years of work related computer hardware andsoftware experience, or any equivalent combination of relevanteducation and experience totaling five (5) years.

Must possess a good understanding of Information Technology as it relates to

Information Assurance/Cyber Security.

Familiarity with Department of Defense Information AssuranceCertification and Accreditation Process (DIACAP) and/orRisk Management Framework (RMF) processes and a work history that includes experience withproviding IA or IT support to a Navy or USMC client isdesirable but not required.

Proficiency with using the Internet and with Microsoft Officeproducts including e-mail, Word, Excel, Access and Project isrequired.

Must possess CompTIA Security certification.

An active Security Clearance at time of time of hire and SSBI background investigation.

Essential Functions

Physical Requirements:

Light- Work usually requires standing or walking to a significant degree. Exerts up to 20 lbs. of force occasionally or up to 10 lbs. of force frequently to move objects.

Work Environment:

Must maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner to get along with customers, clients, co-workers and management.

Must be able to work independently and with minimal supervision. An inside office environment(Considerations: Closed quarters,lighting, and temperature fluctuations)

Equipment and Machines:

Standard office equipment and machines, computer workstation.


With the exception of STD/LTD/FMLA & approved time off, attendance is considered essential.

Normal hours are Monday – Thursday 7:00am – 5:00pm, non-flex

Fridays 7:00am to 4:00pm

May be required to work outside of normal shift hours when required for mission support.

Current driver’s license, car registration and auto insurance required

Possession of Valid Security (CE) certification

U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain an interim and a permanent U.S. DoD Secret Security Clearance required and must be able acquire and maintain a Navy CAC card.
