Senior Unix Systems Administrator

This support position will reside with the CCF Operations group at China Lake, NAWCWD. Candidate will report to the CCF computer operations Lead as a member CCF server/systems infrastructure operations team leading the UNIX/LINUX systems support group. As Lead of the UNIX systems you will assemble and deploy complex customer systems solutions and serve as an UNIX system and database expert.
Successful candidate will develop server solutions and deploy systems as required by end customers methods. Candidate will supervise and train Technicians and System Administrators as required.
Additional Duties will include:
Repair, installation and modernization of Client/server enterprise resources on classified and unclassified networks and review and assess systems infrastructure and computer client/server systems performance.
Assembly of computer system solutions designed to meet CCF customer needs
Assist in scanning and hardening of all CCF UNIX and MicroSoft computer resources.
BS degree in IT, Computer Science, Network Engineering, Information Assurance or military training with a back ground that includes work on medium sized computer networks (classified and unclassified) using UNIX or LINUX server systems.
Fourteen (14) years of relevant client server systems experience that includes expertise in the area of DoD Information Assurance compliance testing and UNIX server and server database installation, troubleshooting and system modernization.Needs to understand and apply NAWCWD security processes as a part of their job.Needs to have a background maintaining facilities
A U.S. DoD Secret Security Clearance is required at time of hire.
Security and Linux/UNIX certifications are required. RHCSA or MCITP certification is a plus. This position requires compliance to DoD 8570.
Working at a computer or desk (considerations: sitting, eye strain, hand strain)
May involve long periods of sitting or standing.
An inside office environment (Considerations: Closed quarters, lighting, and temperature fluctuations)
Needs to have clear, concise and accurate communication skills
Need to work well with, co-operate, and support clients, supervisors, and co-workers
Will work in computer room environment with raised floors and very cool ambient room temperatures

- Standard office equipment and machines, computer workstation.
Normal hours are Monday – Thursday 7:00am – 5:00pm, non-flex Fridays 7:00am to 4:00pm
Punctuality and regular attendance are necessary to meet deadlines

Must be fully certified in Security and possess a Unix system or MS system certification – Be compliant with DoD 8570
U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain an interim and a permanent U.S. DoD Secret Security Clearance required
