As a senior level engineer, you will serve in a lead technical role on design projects within our Transportation Market. You will carry out and lead complex structural planning, analysis and design for all structural aspects of transportation projects, primarily bridges. You will have the opportunity to provide day-to-day leadership and technical expertise on some of the most high-profile and impactful transportation infrastructure projects in the country. Your responsibilities will also include overseeing and ensuring that project quality, schedule, and budget requirements are met while simultaneously building trusted relationships with our teaming partners and clients. As a leader within our project delivery team, you will also serve as a key point of contact between our clients and our global team of bridge engineers. This critical role enables Jacobs to provide our clients with the most appropriate and necessary level of knowledge and experience to meet any of their needs.

The candidate will possess knowledge and experience in:

  • Planning, analysis, design, plan preparation, specification development, bridge inspections, and report writing.

  • Must be comfortable being viewed as a technical expert in engineering analysis and design and have a proven background of technical leadership on structural transportation projects.

  • Successful project management experience directing and coordinating the activities on transportation engineering projects to ensure that goals or objectives of these projects are accomplished within prescribed time frame and funding parameters.

  • Establishing work plans and multi-disciplinary staffing for each phase of a project and arranging for recruitment or assignment of project personnel. Directing and coordinating the activities of Project Engineers, Engineers, and Technicians to ensure project progresses on schedule and within prescribed budget.

  • Should be active in technical societies and be available to attend meetings or events outside normal working hours.

  • Experience in a teamwork environment and leading a team of engineers is required.

Here’s what you’ll need :

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering

  • Professional Engineer (PE) registration in Ohio or ability to obtain Ohio license within 6 months of employment.

  • Minimum 10 years of progressive and demonstrated experience on a variety of bridge types (i.e. steel, prestressed concrete, curved, skewed, and long-span), to include analysis, design, and plan development of new and rehabilitation projects.

  • Considerable experience on large, multidisciplinary bridge design projects.

  • Previous experience with Design-Build (DB) projects.

  • Advanced working knowledge of MicroStation, Excel, MathCad, Structural Analysis and Design Software, (examples include SAP2000, CSi-Bridge, LPILE, MDX, Leap Bridge, LARSA).

  • Experience mentoring engineering staff.

  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office Software.

Ideally, you will also have:

  • Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering
