Jacobs Field Construction Inspector - Rail (Part Time) in Cleveland, Ohio

Your Impact:

Do you strive to create a more connected world by utilizing your skills of rail inspection? If so, we’d like you to consider Jacobs.

We’d depend on you to perform on-site QA to confirm contractor compliance with approved Contract Documents, Construction Quality Control Plan and Owner/Stakeholder Requirement Plan during Construction by the Contractor. You’d also have the opportunity to prepare regular status reports and maintain current and accurate records of work performed on-site. You’d be able to demonstrate your industry knowledge by keeping Project Managers informed of progress documentation and activities of the Contractor as well as help with coordination with the Contractor, Owner and Stakeholder’s Representatives.

On a daily basis, you’d be challenged to provide the following documentations: Contractor QC and Independent QA, check QA checklists, Daily Progress Reports, crew size and equipment on site, construction activities performed, and regular progress photographs.

Additionally, you would observe field construction efforts, construction sequencing and scheduling as well as attending/coordinating railroad pre-construction meetings.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

  • High school diploma or GED

  • Demonstrated related experience in construction inspection of rail projects

  • Be able to read and interpret contract documents and construction plans

Ideally, You’ll Also Have:

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Ability to work day or night shifts and weekend shifts

  • Willingness to train in OSHA, CPR and other Jacobs mandated training classes
