Jacobs in Italy is currently looking to hire Piping Designer.

What You'll need:

  • Good understanding of engineering principles related to piping design, including fluid dynamics, stress analysis, material selection and code compliance (ASME, API, ANSI, etc.)

  • 5 years' experience in designing complex piping systems

  • Proficiency in using Autodesk P3D for modeling piping systems and extracting related construction documents (i.e., Piping layout, Isometrics, etc)

  • Ability to interpret and work from engineering drawings, isometric drawings, P&IDs (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams), and other technical documents

  • Familiarity with best practices in pipe design, support design, stress analysis, MTO control, and 3D model reviews

  • Organizational skills to manage multiple activities, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines always respecting project requirements

  • Ability to identify and resolve design issues, clashes, and conflicts within the piping system

  • Capable of working collaboratively with other designers, engineers, and stakeholders to ensure proper integration with other disciplines (e.g., civil, mechanical, electrical)

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey design ideas and collaborate with team members and clients

  • Understanding of cost estimation and budgeting for piping projects

  • Proactive approach to add value plus/optimization ideas

  • Ensure completion of activities assigned within schedule, with the proper quality and according to project requirements

  • Familiarity with piping systems fabrication and installation processes

  • Knowledge of quality control procedures and inspection techniques for piping systems

  • Curiosity and willingness to stay updated with the latest advancements in piping design technologies and practices

  • Proficient in spoken and written English and Italian

Additional qualifications that would be advantageous include:

  • Experience in the Pharmaceutical & Chemical industries

  • Strong presentation skills

  • Ability to create and manage Pipe specs using AutoCAD Plant 3D Spec Editor

  • Ability to set-up, customize and maintain projects in AutoCAD Plant 3d

  • Willingness to travel for short periods
