PROCUREMENT/SUBCONTRACT MANAGER

Position Summary

Purchases materials or works and or coordinatesactivities involved with procuring goods and services, such as raw materials,equipment, tools, parts, and supplies. Has complete understanding andapplication of principles, theories, concepts, and industry practices andstandards. Performs work of complex scope. Participates in setting assignmentobjectives; plans own task schedule to satisfy objectives. Representsorganization, interacting with senior internal and external personnel onsignificant matters.

  • Interviews and confers with vendors or contractors to obtain product or service information, such as price, availability, and delivery schedule

  • Selects products for purchase by testing, observing, or examining items

  • Determines method of procurement, such as direct purchase or bid

  • Prepares bid requests or purchase orders

  • Reviews bid proposals and negotiates contracts within budgetary limitations and scope of authority

  • Discusses and secures timely planning and delivery with expediting personnel

  • Coordinates activities related to identification, control, and accounting for documents by Vendors, Contractors, Engineering team

  • Discusses defective or unacceptable goods or services with inspection or quality control personnel, users, vendors, and others to determine source of trouble and take corrective action

Qualifications

Requirements

  • 6-8 years of relevant experience required

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills required

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office required

  • Bachelors degree preferred

  • For this role fluency in both written and spoken ITALIAN and ENGLISH is essential. Working knowledge of German and/or French is a plus.
