Your Impact:

The Quantity Surveyor provides the tools and systems necessary to effectively and proactively manage, control, and report on cost and schedule for concurrent projects throughout the organization.

Services include planning cost and schedule (work breakdown structure) metrics and tools, collecting performance data (installed quantities, expended labor hours, and other progress measurements for direct hire and subcontract work), tracking data (daily cost compilation and monitoring), analyzing (earned value, productivity and risk analyses), and reporting. Identifies and tracks all changes or potential changes to the project scope, ensuring estimates of cost changes and schedule impact are given visibility with the client and project management. Integrates cost and schedule data and reporting with the company's accounting and management information systems to facilitate meeting company performance and financial goals.

Sitting in the Pricing and Estimating discipline, the candidate shall ensure the quantity surveying effort working alongside with project team and establishing and maintaining professional relationship with client and other stakeholders. In this role the candidate will have the opportunity to work within a variety of sectors and will be involved in pre and post Quantity Surveying contract duties. The ideal candidate should possess a strong attitude in service delivery.

Key responsibilities include, but not limited to the following:

  • Utilize Jacobs best practice tools and processes to support project delivery in Quantity Surveying

  • Assist in establishing a client's requirements and undertake feasibility studies to ensure the final execution

  • Prepare and analyze materials, quantities, labor, time and project costings for tenders

  • Advise clients on improvements, strategies, and/or estimated costs

  • Prepare tender documentations, including bills of quantities and specifications as per design documentation

  • Track changes of project & update budgets

  • Utilize software - Microsoft Office Suite, BIM model (Autodesk Revit Models) - to calculate, record, and track of estimates

Here’s What You’ll Need:

  • Bachelor's degree (or superior) in quantity surveying, construction engineering, management, or related field

  • At least 5 years of general construction estimating experience, financial experience, construction experience, or related field

  • In-depth understanding of construction, materials, pricing, and industry

  • Proficient in computer skills MO Suite, STR or Acca Software

  • Proficient in extracting quantities from BIM model (Autodesk Revit Models)

  • Strong aptitude for numbers, spreadsheets, and financial reports

  • Strong propensity for innovation

  • Experienced at compiling and following strict budgets, strong estimating and financial analysis skills

  • Able to analyze financial records and apply data to improved results

  • Able to analyze problems and strategize for better solutions

  • Good team player

  • Able to act on own initiative

  • Fluency in English
