Key duties of the role include:

  • Preparation of Procurement Strategies

  • Development of Vendors lists and assembling of Requests for Quotations (RFQ's)

  • Evaluation and conditioning of Vendor responses

  • Carrying out commercial checks for Vendors and past performance

  • Conducting negotiations to enable the shortlisting of Vendors

  • Make shortlist recommendations to the Manager of Procurement, project team and the Client, highlighting distinguishing factors between Vendors and the rationale behind recommendations

  • Conducting final negotiations with selected Vendors and the preparation of subcontracts/purchase orders in compliance with the procurement governance

  • Monitoring Vendor performance and managing claims/change orders. Reviewing of invoices for accuracy. Tracking procurement status and delivery performance. Closing out complete subcontracts and purchase orders

  • Liaise with the project team to assist with the resolution of supply issues and when required:

  • Provide monthly reports on procurement and Vendor performance

  • Monitor the supply market to identify potential new Vendors and products and meet with Vendors to understand their products

  • Understand the market, keeping abreast of market developments, demand trends and risks

  • Focus on exceeding minimum service expectations by delivering an agile, value adding service with a deep understanding of the Client’s requirements, functional knowledge and process efficiency

  • Establish performance led, long term Vendor relationships focusing on value for money, service & product quality and continuous improvement to drive competitive advantage for the project

Here’s what you’ll need :

  • Bachelors degree or high school diploma

  • Three (3) to five (5) years of experience in supply management or related fields in the EPCM industry

  • Proven capability of working within a procurement team carrying out procurement activities, Vendor relationships including negotiation, production of subcontracts/purchase orders documents and process compliance

  • Overall knowledge of industry business: understands major technical and organizational business issues related to purchasing. Extensive knowledge of commercial procurement laws and standards as they relate to Jacobs operations management and project delivery.

  • Good understanding of construction subcontracting

  • Good communications and writing skills, ability to effectively author contractual commitment documents, as well as internal and external communications

  • Knowledge of written and spoken English and Italian

  • Availability to travel for short/long term assignments
