Your Impact:

The government client requires all employees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 for any/all positions that will require travel.

Full vaccination (against COVID-19) is defined as: an individual must be either two weeks past the last shot of a two-shot vaccination sequence, or two weeks past the only shot of a one-shot vaccination sequence.

Description of Duties:

The Cloud Systems Engineer supports the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract. The candidate will:

  • Support MDA’s Cloud infrastructure in Azure and/or AWS and respond to incidents affecting the availability of Cloud Services.

  • View and respond (as appropriate) to events reflected in the various management and monitoring tools.

  • Restore Cloud Services in a degraded or non-functional state.

  • Perform administration of cloud environments to include troubleshooting, break fix activities, and system audit log reviews as required.

  • Coordinate efforts with other work centers and personnel to resolve Remedy Incidents related to systems and supporting infrastructure, troubleshooting any system errors or user issues, tracking resource utilization and performance of systems, and performing modifications and upgrades as needed.

  • Develop and maintain systems documentation, diagrams, and standard operation procedures. Create, track and maintain change management requests and documentation.

  • Providing support on matters involving the maintenance and security of information systems to ensure system availability, accreditation, and continuous monitoring.

  • Implement DISA STIGs and work within the Configuration Management process.

  • Perform systems security administration functions, including account administration.

  • Perform on-call duties.

This position can be filled at Schriever SFB, Colorado Springs, CO or Redstone Arsenal, Huntsville, AL

Primary duty hours fall between 0700 (MT) and 1700 (MT) with periodic shift work (and on-call) required to assist with after-hours maintenance activities and occasional weekend coverage

This position is expected to pay $86,100 - $96,100 annually; depending on location, experience, education, and any certifications that are directly related to the position.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

Basic Requirements:

Must have one of the following combinations of education and experience: HS Diploma (or GED) and 1 years of general experience; Associate's degree and 0 years of general experience

  • If this position requires travel selected candidate must be willing to provide proof of fully vaccinated (against COVID-19) status? (the process of which must be completed prior to the anticipated start date)

  • Must have 2 years of directly related experience in an engineering field

  • Must understand cloud delivery models (IAAS, SAAS, PAAS)

  • Must have experience with operating systems

  • Must be familiar with Cybersecurity best practices

  • Must have a DoD 8570.01 IAT Level II Certification such as CompTIA Security+ CE Certification, CASP, or CISSP

  • Must have, or obtain within 6 months of start date, a Windows Server/Azure Certification or AWS Certification

  • Must have an active DoD Secret security clearance

Desired Requirements:

  • Have experience with Cloud Environments and platforms (Azure, AWS, VMware Virtualization)

  • Have experience in Operations and Maintenance Activities of IT Infrastructure

  • Be familiar with enterprise change management processes

  • Have experience using Remedy application

  • Have experience supporting a DoD customer
